Over the last few years I have used many of these things in Billy’s feed that I mixed myself using organic herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs. I knew the benefits of feeding these wonderful herbs!

  • Papaya Leaves = Helps digestive systems, relieves inflammation
    • Antioxidants
  • Fenugreek = Helps the large intestine

    • Hypoglycemic
    • Expectorant
  • Brewers Dried Yeast = Helps with digestion

  • Peas = Excellent protein source
    • High Lysine content

Horse have a very hard time using man made supplements. Their bodies simply do not recognize them as real food. Therefor when you feed the man made, pelleted and powdered supplements you are mostly throwing away your money.

I have tried to avoid these feeds for years now and my horses have been happy and healthy! I have spent lots and lots of money mixing my own feed. Sometimes you can’t get certain herbs as they are out of stock so my feed would vary slightly based on what was available to me. When I started to study and read about the Crypto Aero feed I was so excited!!! Finally a feed that I could afford that had all the things that are so important to me.

I went to a local feed store, Bridger Animal Nutrition, in Bozeman and asked them to look into the Crypto Aero feed. They agreed to carry the feed IF I could sell the first pallet… that was 30 bags of feed! So I went out and spread the word, told all my friends, shared it on Facebook and talked this feed up! I managed to sell 12 bags. It was a disappointment as I really wanted this feed here in Montana.

It’s so amazing to me how hard it is to talk people into trying a feed that is wholesome and natural and obviously so GOOD for the horse. The testimonials are amazing for this feed! The amount of money people will save on supplements when feeding this feed is also amazing. This feed has everything in it that horse’s need. All you have to supply (besides forage, hay or grass!) is a loose salt and clean water! And yet people won’t think of trying it because it isn’t main stream. Sigh. It reminds me so much of the Essential Oils! People are willing to take prescription drugs and drink soda and eat fast food but they balk at using the essential part of the plant, that grows in nature and can actually heal!

Lucky for me I have great friends and neighbors. When one of them found out that Bridger may not place the order, they called them up and ordered the number of bags we needed to get this shipment here. Whoot whoot!!! I was so excited that I drove around and delivered feed to all the people I got to place an order. I felt responsible for their feed getting to them and was so excited for them!!

We now have our feed and we’ve all started our horses on it. Those of us that placed our orders are so excited and our horses are LOVING it!

I feed the minis just 1/2 a cup of feed a day. It’s so inexpensive!

Left: The feed, so colorful! Right: I feed 1/2 a cup to each pony once a day!

I can’t wait to share my after pictures….

  1. i feed this as well and my horses have never looked better, or been any healthier! I have so many people make fun of me or knock the feed until they actually try it, and then they fall in love as well.

    1. I am still loving this feed. I can not wait to see how well my ponies shed off this spring since they will have been on this feed all winter! They all look really really good under all the hair and MUD 🙂

  2. i wanted to try this on my old horses…i have one mare that lives on air , one that is a hard keeper and one that is an easy keeper but has a tendency to get really hot. I can now order this through and was wondering what you have experienced starting horses on this feed and the amounts. thanks

    1. Hi Beth! I started my minis out on 1/2 a cup of this feed and have since dropped them down to 2 Tablespoons. They are out on grass now and don’t need quite so much! I have a neighbor that has two big horses, a Friesian and a Frieisan/Percheron cross and she feeds them 1/2 a cup a day. I have another friend that has a hard keeper that gets 2 cups twice a day and is doing very well! So it really depends on the horse. If you have specific questions you can email me photos of your horses or message Crypto Aero on Facebook and they will be happy to help you as well!

  3. so that really asks my question about a senior horse that has trouble eating hay and is presently on Purina senior feed. Will/can Crypto provide what he’ll need sans hay? Can other senior horses that haven’t any teeth issues do well on Crypto along with forage/hay?

    1. Hi Madeline! I do think that most horses will do very well on the Crypto along with hay. I have a couple of special needs horses so I supplement with the California Trace minerals, Thryo-L and Chaste Berry powder. I wouldn’t expect the Crypto to take the place of forage though. It’s meant to be fed in small amounts, except for very hard keepers. I have a friend that has a couple of hard keeper Arabians that need several pounds of the Crypt every day. She breaks their feed up into two feedings to meet their needs. And because they need that much, their bodies utilize it and they don’t get “hot”. I hope that helps some! Feel free to email me with any questions that may come up 🙂

  4. i just started my 3 horses on Crypto Aero and they LOVE it! i’m feeding one cup a day to the horses and 1/2 cup to the hackney pony. I have chosen the auto-ship from and get 2-25lb bags delivered to my door, free delivery!

    1. That is fantastic Briana! I love the feed as do lots of my friends. I have some people that have hard keepers on it and feed a bit more and then other friends that have easy keepers on it and feed a bit less. It’s such a versatile feed!

  5. Approximately how many 1/2 cup feedings do you get from a single bag? Also how long will this feed last stored properly? I am really thinking of feeding this to my miniatures once I am able to own again! Thank you so much for your testimonial

    1. Hi Kyla! I don’t feed my minis a 1/2 a cup anymore as that was just a little too much for my lot. I have two that get 1/3 of a cup and one that gets 1/4 of a cup. I buy a 50 pound bag every 6 months or so. I’m not sure how many of each serving I get in each bag. So I store one bag in a metal garbage can for up to 6 months before I buy more. I live in Montana so we don’t have any humidity and it’s very dry here so I don’t have a mold issue. I hope that helps!
